As I logged on to my Yahoo email the other day and found no new emails for a second consecutive day I thought it was time to consider the lack of traffic. Not having committed a social faux-pas for several weeks I was pretty sure that my empty inbox was not a barometer of my popularity. Open any newspaper at the moment and you will find articles on personal data and privacy and Armageddon.  Well, not quite, but you could be forgiven for believing that Big Brother is very definitely watching you and will punish you for that online purchase of Chas and Dave’s back catalogue.  He should, but believe me he will not.   There is a lot of confusion about data security and consumers are focussing too much on the wrong areas.  They are not controlling t... more

It is over 15 years since the concept of cascading KPIs and the balanced scorecard became a hot topic in business circles and still a lot of companies feel that they don’t do this well and need to improve their own measurement capability.

It is our belief at TCG that the reason for this is that many businesses are spending too much time focussing on the hard mechanics of KPIs and have lost sight of some of the nuances that make good KPIs a great business tool.
