As I logged on to my Yahoo email the other day and found no new emails for a second consecutive day I thought it was time to consider the lack of traffic. Not having committed a social faux-pas for several weeks I was pretty sure that my empty inbox was not a barometer of my popularity. Apologies for tampering with the Bard but here is a short blog about something that has been annoying/pre-occupying me for a while. Access to free Wifi networks.
As a frequent business traveller to Europe I have long been puzzled about their approach to network access for laptops and phones versus ours. Over there they are usually free in any hotel, over here in the UK most hotels will charge . There has got to be something wrong with a five star Mayfair...

It is over 15 years since the concept of cascading KPIs and the balanced scorecard became a hot topic in business circles and still a lot of companies feel that they don’t do this well and need to improve their own measurement capability.
It is our belief at TCG that the reason for this is that many businesses are spending too much time focussing on the hard mechanics of KPIs and have lost sight of some of the nuances that make good KPIs a great business tool.
